Sample Press Release:

Events of long-ago can impact lives of individuals in the present, amateur sleuth Millie Kirchner learns in the Deadly Past Mysteries written by Oklahoma author Marion Moore Hill.

Latest in the series is DEADLY KIN, in which history buff Millie visits a friend in Boston, where she finds herself embroiled in a battle between descendants of John, Abigail, and Samuel Adams.  Whereas some in that iconic family are trying to preserve historic sites in the city, one cousin is seeking city approval for a huge new shopping center that could imperil a historic neighborhood.

Earlier titles in the series are DEADLY WILL and DEADLY DESIGN.  In WILL, Millie learns she’s an heir to an odd legacy based on the actual bequest Benjamin Franklin made to the cities of Philadelphia and Boston.  Franklin specified that the two trust funds earn interest for 200 years after his death before the cities received all the money.  Millie’s ancestor, however, specified that his money be divided among his own descendants two centuries later, leading to murder of some heirs, apparently to reduce the number of people inheriting.

In DESIGN, Millie assists archaeologists one summer at Poplar Forest, Thomas Jefferson’s retreat home near Lynchburg, VA.  While there, she solves a mystery about an old house that may have been designed by the third President.

The author will speak at _________________ on _______________ at ______a.m. [or p.m.].  She will discuss both her Deadly Past Mysteries and the other series she writes, the Scrappy Librarian Mysteries, about a small-town Oklahoma librarian.

Hill’s talk is free to the public, with the audience encouraged to ask questions.  Copies of all her novels will be for sale after the presentation.

The author is a former college teacher of English and journalism, a former legal secretary, and a former newspaper reporter.  She and her husband, Dr. Elbert Hill, professor emeritus from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, owned an international-foods store in Durant.
